We could not have asked for a better engagement session! Michelle & Drew are such an amazing couple that were perfectly at ease in front of the camera. The day was a typical mid September afternoon in Alabama…HOT AND DRY! But the day was beautiful in spite of the temperature and the light was heavenly! Add to all of this, Michelle and Drew’s fashion sense! We could not have asked for anything more!
We spent the first part of the session at the ever beautiful Birmingham Botanical Gardens. We were lucky enough to have the gardens pretty much to ourselves! Apparently it was a bit too warm (HOT) for many garden goers, which made it even easier for us to venture wherever we wanted. As we were leaving to head downtown for the second half of their engagement session, we, of course, had to stop to get some shots using The Leaf & Petal as a backdrop! They had their many colorful and whimsical pumpkins out, along with mums and their usual display of perfectly arranged plants and various garden decor. Their shop always makes for the perfect backdrop for all of our engagement sessions!
Downtown, in front of the architectural treasure known as the Robert S. Vance Federal Building, Michelle & Drew looked amazing walking along it’s grand marble beauty! And once again, Michelle and Drew’s fashion choices were on point! The sun was getting lower, the temp dropped just enough to make it a bit more comfortable and the light surrounded them like magic!
Everything about this day was perfect! Well, okay, the temperature could’ve been a bit cooler, but it did not hinder a thing! We had such a relaxing and productive day with them and we are counting down the days until their November nuptials at St. Paul’s Cathedral followed by the reception at The Florentine!
