The Silas Family
When Ashleigh contacted us nearly 3 years ago to do a family session for her sweet little family, we had no idea the bond that would ensue! Over the past 3 years, we not only have become friends, Ashleigh is an invaluable vendor friend, (aka friendor) that we now rely on for our hair needs for styled shoots and she is at the top of our recommendations list that we pass on to our brides to be!
Ashleigh had done some work for us several months ago and in exchange we scheduled another family session with her! We were so excited to get her and her husband, Ross and their son, Ryder, back in front of the camera!! They are so fun and easy going! When we began planning this session out, we wanted to do something that was going to be more than just a photo session! Lol, we just wanted to hang out with them! Earlier in the summer we had taken “the boys” (see Cindy’s Instagram @cindycarter1984 for details) downtown for a mural tour. This was so fun and interesting that we wanted to do it with the Silas’ but in a more controlled and professional way. We mapped out several #birminghammurals and added a couple of our favorite Birmingham iconic sights like Morris Avenue (1st Ave. Historic District) and Magic City Rotary Club Trail sign and had our day planned!
THIS FAMILY Y’ALL!!! They completely and totally exceeded our expectations and made this session everything that it is!! They are just the best! We drug them around town, getting in and out of the car, parking in some spots that may or may not have been actual parking spots, put capes on them, asked them to perform feats of strength (Ross) and courage (all 3)…… and they didn’t blink an eye! Even Ryder, their 5 year old, was so into it that we are pretty sure he didn’t say a word the entire time we were together! We hope it was because he was so infatuated and wrapped up in the experience! Judging by the images, we think so!
This was just the best day ever!
Thank you so much Ashleigh, Ross and Ryder!!! You truly made an idea that we weren’t so sure about into a reality that turned out so much more than we anticipated! We look forward to “working” with y’all again….and again and again….
