An Alabama Summertime Wedding at Mathews Manor

Nothing says summertime in Alabama like an afternoon thunderstorm and some high humidity!  But when you have a couple in love, ready to celebrate their happily ever after, weather is not a factor.  Grace and Hunter have been through his deployment, her working hard at becoming a teacher, (still going through) a pandemic, and everything else that 2020 has thrown at them.  All of this just in the last few months of their engagement.  But nothing is going to keep these two from anything that they plan, much less the trivial things mentioned above. They are diehard Crossfit trainers, selfless, strong believers, with Christ in the forefront, and nothing will knock them down.  So, a beat wasn’t missed on their wedding day, when a little Alabama summer shower passed through!

The day leading up to their vows was like many wedding days.  Everyone running around, making sure everything was in place.  A misplaced item, a forgotten something or other, a little nervous tension, a little thunder and lightning.  But our experience has shown us that once the bride-to-be and the groom-to-be have that special time together, when they choose to do a first look, all nerves, all tension, all the butterflies fluttering in their stomach, melt away.  We saw this with Grace and Hunter.  That look on their faces when they turned to face each other, minutes before they became Mr. & Mrs. Songer, said it all.  The adoration and emotions flowing (along with a few tears).  Then, the realization and elation set in and they’re ready to celebrate!  And that is exactly what they did.  Along with so many friends and family!  It was standing room only at the incredibly beautiful, Micah’s Meadow at Mathews Manor!  We weren’t surprised that so very many loved ones came to witness their union!  Grace and Hunter are two very special individuals that became stronger on July 31, 2020.

“So they are no longer two,

but one flesh.

Therefore what God has joined together,

let no one separate.”

Matthew 19:6

Thank you so much, Grace & Hunter, for allowing us to witness your devotion to each other.  Thank you for allowing us to celebrate with you.  And most of all, thank you for your trust in documenting the most important day of your lives together.  We wish you all the happiness forever and ever!
