Rachel & Jacob Tie the Knot at The Highlands Chapel

Where do we begin??  First of all, Rachel and Jacob are true testimonies to what can happen in your life when you let God lead!  These 2 are genuine servants of the Lord.  We can only imagine the love and compassion that Rachel shows her patients through her work at the Montgomery Cancer Center and Jacob’s devotion and understanding he gives through his work as an EMT.  Then, there is the selfless and continual work they do for and with their churches.  And that is where their story begins.  We will not even attempt to paraphrase the story of how they met.  Rachel herself told it so beautifully when we were exchanging emails after Rachel first reached out to us:

Me and Jacob were actually set up by a Nurse Practitioner that I work with.  I am a nurse and Jacob was the Youth Pastor at her church (He is also an EMT so we have that in common as well).  When she first told me about Jacob, I just wasn’t in the season to want to date again, and neither was Jacob.  But the Lord’s plans always prevail and I knew the day I sat in front of him on our first date that he was the man the Lord has set apart for me – I heard “This is Him”.  Took me by complete shock, though I trusted 🙂  I’m still amazed every day that I get to marry this man!  It’s also just a cool “God wink” that our names are Rachel and Jacob :)”.

Doesn’t that just say it all!?  Just gives us goosebumps!  After every email and each encounter with Rachel & Jacob we would be left with a feeling of, well, the only word we can think of is just happiness!  They both are so positive and just radiate a goodness that you can’t help but soak up!

On a side note and one that cannot be left out, is the fact that Rachel is 4’ 11” while Jacob stands at 6’ 5”!!  Yeah, you read that right! And let us just say that it makes them all that much more adorable! She may be small, but she is mighty and he, her gentle giant!  At the point in the ceremony when the officiant said “Jacob, you may kiss your bride” and Jacob held up a hand and said “hold on” and stepped down to retrieve a step stool that he had ready for Rachel so that their first kiss as husband and wife would be a bit more comfortable!  Oh, goodness! We’re pretty sure that all the guests cheered!!!!!! It was the single most precious moment in a ceremony we’ve ever witnessed!

The reception at Woodrow Hall was full of great food, great music, great friends and loving family!

The story of the send off is pretty much told completely through the pictures below!  Jacob cannot say that he didn’t see it coming………but he might not have seen it quite so vividly as the reality that it was!  Scroll down, and you’ll see what we mean, LOL.

We usually leave a wedding pretty exhausted (in a good way).  This particular wedding we left with full hearts and many new friends!

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott for not giving up when searching for your photographers!  We thank God that you found us and allowed us to be the ones to document this day in your lives!
