Saying ‘I Do’ at Birmingham’s Aldridge Gardens

Emily and Justin are the real deal!!  Highschool sweethearts that have been together for 8 years!!  Yes, you read that right, 8 years!! They must have been babies when they fell in love!  They are just the cutest couple ever! There’s Justin, the quiet, ALWAYS smiling, looking at Emily as if she hung the moon.  Then there is Emily, the sweetest, up for anything and knows how to have a good time! These two absolutely compliment each other.  They are the proverbial two halves that, together, make the perfect whole! We have made such a connection with these two and feel like our friendship will last forever!  We had the great pleasure of doing 2 engagement sessions with them over the past year due to some crazy Alabama weather and we are so thankful that it worked out that way.  Emily and Justin have that “do whatchya gotta do” attitude and because of that, we came away with two amazing galleries for them!! If you haven’t had the chance to look at these amazing sessions on our blog, you can here https://katieandcindy.com/emily-justin/ and here https://katieandcindy.com/a-birmingham-botanical-gardens-engagement-session/ .  Because of having the opportunity to spend so much time with them, we felt like old friends going to their wedding!

Their wedding day was one big party! Everything from the food, THE most amazing wedding cake we’ve ever tasted (@daughtersbakery) and florals to the dresses and the DJ!  Not to mention the absolute BEST and most beautiful bridesmaids and the fun lovin groomsmen, flower girl and ring bearer. We have to say that this wedding put the word party in wedding PARTY!   @DJPapaRooster had the place jumping and everyone was on the dance floor all night! Every guest, it seemed, danced the night away and it was so hard to end it!

We’ve loved (and maybe envied a little/lot) keeping up with them on their honeymoon in Santorini, Greece!  Emily is the best at posting beautiful images that have us all dreaming of going to Greece one day!

We cannot thank you enough, Mr. & Mrs. Foster, for inviting us to your wedding!  Being a part of this chapter in your lives has meant so much to us! We hope that you love this preview as much as we loved doing it!!  We are going to have to get together next year for an anniversary session!!!!

Well it has been about a month since my daughter, Emily Sharp Foster, got married and we have now been able to slow down and reflect. I don’t know how much involvement most Dad’s have during this process but I had very little until the actual wedding. Mostly, my part was to write checks and get phone calls saying “Dad we need you to come to such and such place and oh yeah, bring your pickup” whenever Emily and Anita went shopping. I did learn the words “Her Mother and I” may be the hardest words a Dad will ever say when it comes time to give your baby to someone else. However, I did get to observe a lot and I just wanted to come on here and say how great Katie and Cindy Photography is and say thank you for everything. You are the nicest people and were truly invested in my daughter’s big day and captured it perfectly. You didn’t just take pictures, somehow you captured all the feelings we went through- silly, happy, reverent, joyous, etc. Whenever, I look at these pictures I am just overwhelmed at what a great job you did and I thank you so so much and wish you nothing but continued success.

      Mr. Sharp,

These words are perhaps the most endearing compliment we have ever received! For you to take the time to write this means the world to us!! To know that you are able to relive this day and take in all the emotions felt on that day, means that we accomplished what we always try to! Thank you, sir, for this! We will treasure this forever!
