Chris & Sami
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, we don’t think. It didn’t feel like it anyway! It was the last days of summer in Alabama and the beautiful Flagstone Farm was in full swing, preparing for the day. Even the geese were flying around in anticipation of the day and evenings festivities. Anyone that can stay calm, collected and beautiful in a 100 degree plus day in Alabama is something else! Sami not only stayed calm, collected and beautiful the entire day, she was also graceful and the picture of southern charm. Her attitude and sweetness definitely affected all those around her and therefore the day went as smooth as homemade peach ice cream. Chris too was calm….on the outside. We’re not 100% positive he was as cool and calm on the inside. If he was very nervous, it didn’t show (too much).
Both Chris & Sami were surrounded by such a special group of friends and family. Sami’s bridesmaids stayed by her side and tended to her every need. Before the ceremony, her girls, mother, soon to be mother in law and aunt surrounded Sami in prayer. Each girl, each woman, prayed over her individually, yet as a whole. It was one of the sweetest, most spiritual and sincere moments we have witnessed.
When it was time for the ceremony and Chris stood at the alter waiting for Sami to appear at the end of the aisle, you could feel the the love between them! This couple may be quiet, but the looks between them say it all. The ceremony, with the tying of the rope cross while one of the bridesmaids played guitar and sang along side of a young man, and the father of the groom spoke beautifully on building a strong marriage in Christ, was something to behold. It was more than an event, it was more than a ceremony, it was a feeling. The feeling that washed over everyone that was there to witness.
As Sami & Chris were announced Mr. & Mrs. and they headed down the aisle, the look of pure happiness, mixed with a little relief that after the months leading up to this moment, was clear in their eyes and in their smiles! They were then ready to begin the party and celebrate their union with friends and family!
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Calhoun, for allowing us the honor of capturing every special moment of this very special occasion! Congratulations and cheers to your happily ever after!
